Estheticians are licensed skincare professionals who perform facials, superficial chemical peels, dermaplaning, extractions, LED, waxing, and lash and brow services. They advise on home skincare and often work within med spas, skin care clinics, and dermatology practices.
Estheticians are not licensed to inject Botox or filler, operate medical lasers independently, or prescribe. In a med spa, they typically handle facials and skin prep while medical providers handle injectables and devices.
Look for a current Florida esthetics license, product lines you can research, and clear expectations — esthetic treatments improve skin quality and maintenance rather than producing dramatic changes. For deeper concerns, an esthetician working alongside a medical provider can escalate your plan.
Rules vary by state and device depth. Deeper and RF microneedling are medical treatments performed by or under a licensed medical provider. Ask who performs it and under what oversight.
